The following lamps prove that you can make a unique DIY lamp by putting to good use old items that have been collecting dust in your attic or garage. Yes, some of you might call that... junk. The best bulb to use is a 40w G18-1/2 lamp..I used a 15W A15. I had a couple threaded lamp rod adapter..so all I did was drill 1/2in holes in the board. Fitted the adapter in with glue and screw in the threaded lamp rod.

Ruffles never go out of stlyle. You can ruffle up your lamp shade by using a colored cloth of your liking, preferably light in weight. Cut it into strips, then make a repeat folding pattern to form the ruffles. Lastly, cover the shade with the ruffles. This is a creative way to made a lamp shade.

It might not seem like a good idea to combine a book with a light bulb. But, when you think about it, the pages of the book could create a very beautiful effect, especially when the light is diffused and spread through them. The project is extremely simple. All you have to do is find a big book that you are willing to sacrifice and cut a rectangular part just like the picture shows. Then install the cord and hanrdware and attach it on the wall.
